IGANGA - Police in East Busoga region have passed out 5224 special police constables who will enforce security during the forthcoming elections in the region.
The passed out was presided over by the regional police commander, SSP Abbas Senyonjo, on Friday at Iganga High School in Iganga municipality.
Senyonjo asked the recruits who completed the 10-day training to exercise the high level of discipline, which is crucial.

This, he said, is crucial for anyone who wishes to be retained after completion of their three-month working period with the Electoral Commission.
He also stressed that vigilance about their own security was key, saying that they could be targeted by some bad elements.
His deputy SSP, Ahmed Hasunira, revealed that on Monday, the individuals will be deployed at their respective police stations
Other dignitaries at the events included: Iganga district assistant RDC Ronald Masajage and ASP Michel Kasadha, the regional police spokesperson.
The recruits are from the six districts of Iganga, Mayuge, Namutumba, Bugiri, Namayingo and Bugweri, which make up the region.
