Common Man's Party (CMP) presidential candidate Mubarak Munyagwa has made adjustments to his campaign programme. He has temporarily paused campaigning in northern Uganda to concentrate on the Central region.
Party secretary general Moses Bigirwa presented the revised presidential campaign programme to the Electoral Commission on Wednesday (November 5).
It is understood that the Police also received a copy of the new schedule.
The reforms indicate that Munyagwa will rest on Thursday, before meeting party leaders on Friday at the CMP's head office in Kampala.
The first-time presidential candidate and former Kawempe South MP will get back on the campaign trail on Saturday in Kayunga district.
Munyagwa will then campaign in Luwero district on Sunday, Wakiso district on Monday and then Nakawa Division in Kampala on Tuesday, marking the end of the revised part of his original campaign schedule.
Party deputy spokesperson Johnfront Ngalula confirmed the developments, saying theirs was a strategic move.
He also said Friday's meeting with leaders is aimed at providing a platform for interaction with party parliamentary flagbearers ahead of the November 10 official start of campaigns for parliamentary candidates.
Ngalula urged their supporters and other stakeholders in general to embrace the changes.
He said that after Tuesday, the party will communicate further on the rest of the campaign programme.
