Winning this year's East and Central Africa Netball Club Championship is top of the agenda for coach Nelson Bogere of WOB Netball Club.

The regional tournament will take place from May 10–16 at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Nairobi, Kenya. Legacy, SMASH, and defending champions Kampala University are the other men's teams representing Uganda.

Last year, WOB were runners-up, and the coach has his sights fully set on winning it this time.

"We are still preparing. We have intensified training as we know the task ahead of us, and it is always a target for everyone to get better results," Bogere said.

Bogere has increased the team's training sessions from once a day to twice a day, every day from Monday to Saturday, at TLC Courts in Kamwokya.

"We have been regular participants, winning this tournament several times. So, with the experience we have in this championship, we are going to compete and better last year's performance, which was finishing as silver medalists," Bogere added.

He added that he is focusing on building the team's endurance and fitness levels with a coordinated approach.

"It is a team game, so we have no individual to base on. We work together as a team, and we have a mix of youth, experienced players, and new young guns, so it is going to be a collective effort," Bogere said.

The former She Cranes tactician will select his squad from the following players: Joseph Kasule, Pius Mudde, Gonzaga Kigozi, Paul Mbiro Silasi, Disan Wasswa, Daudi Walugembe, Andrew Wasswa, Hisham Ndijja, Haman Mbabazi, Yawe Baker, Khasakya Abdul, Denis Mayanja, Elvis Wejuli, Caleb Manirakiza, and Paul Ongala.

Meanwhile, National Insurance Netball Club (NIC) will lead the women's teams in the tournament, with others being KCCA, Prisons, and UCU.
