Vuvuzelas banned as Uganda hosts Algeria in CHAN showdown
In a move that has taken many by surprise, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially banned vuvuzelas from stadiums hosting CHAN matches.

The unmistakable buzz of the vuvuzela, once the heartbeat of Africa football stadiums, will be absent from the stands when Uganda Cranes play against Algeria today at Namboole Stadium.
In a move that has taken many by surprise, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially banned vuvuzelas from stadiums hosting CHAN matches.

The vuvuzela both beloved and deafening has long served as a symbol of fan passion. Now, it’s listed among several prohibited items intended to boost safety and ensure a disturbance-free environment during the tournament.
Joining the vuvuzela in exile are drums, whistles, megaphones, and loudspeakers, all of which have defined the lively and spirited nature of African football fandom. The ban applies to all CHAN fixtures in Uganda.
