The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) ball games II entered day two of action at St Mary’s College Rushoroza, with matches in all 13 disciplines of the championship.
Monday’s delayed start saw the commencement of the newly introduced beach games of volleyball and soccer curtailed as the playing fields were still being worked on.

Boys’ beach soccer title hopefuls Standard High Zzana started beating London College of St Lawrence 6-3 aided by a Bin Umar hattrick, a Bashir Kintu brace and Kasim Kabogi’s strike.
Paris Palais registered a 6-5 win over hosts St Mary’s Rushoroza as the schools embraced the sport that is being played at the USSSA national schools level for the first time. 8 boys’ teams and 5 girls' teams are taking part in this inaugural edition.
“It’s a good start for this new sport in schools. I am impressed with the way the athletes have coped with the game for the first time. They are good and promising, it’s a matter of keeping them focused and in line with the basics and in the next few years, they will be stars,” said beach soccer official Joseph Tamale.
