Uganda’s heavyweight boxer Willy ‘The Ring Tiger’ Kyakonye is set to challenge for the Dutch national title against Georgian Soso Abuladze.
Kyakonye 28, based in Amsterdam takes on Abuladze in a 10-round blockbuster fight on January 28 must-win boxing fight.
The two will tussle it out in the prestigious WTC Leeuwarden boxing arena in the Dutch city of Leeuwarden.
Kyakonye, a former Lukanga Boxing Club pugilist who also won Uganda a bronze medal at the 2015 Africa Boxing Championship says he is ready to destroy Abuladze.
“I have a lot in my armory to destroy this Georgian. I’m coming for serious business and I won’t give Abuladze any chance. I can’t take him for granted”. Kyakonye told Vision Sports through a WhatsApp call.
“My target is to win this belt because it is a step to my next mega title fight this year. My fans back home must know I’m in my best shape ever and I cannot let this belt slip away.”
The gigantic Ugandan boxer is still undisputed with a 9-0 ring record winning five by knockout.
Abuladze will be the second Georgian to taste his wrath having defeated Tamaz Zadishvili, another Georgian with a fifth-round KO in 2021.
By experience, Kyakonye may face it hot as Abuladze besides being a 26-year-old, boasts of 39 professional career fights although managing to win only 12 on the run.
If things go as planned for Kyakonye, the hard puncher will be challenging for the WBF heavyweight title before the year ends.
