Uganda’s Justus Mugisha has been re-appointed as the International Schools Sports Federation (ISF) Technical Commission president for football.

Mugisha who doubles as Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) and Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Associations (FEASSSA) president and also serves as the local football governing body FUFA 1st vice-president, retains the ISF position he has served for the last four years.

In a letter dated 26/09/2022 by the ISF general secretary Hrvoje Custonja, Mugisha was reappointed because of his skills and expertise in the sport.

“On behalf of the ISF EC, it is with great pleasure that I am able to inform you that given your expertise and skills, you have been appointed as the ISF TC president for the sport of football. In your role as TC president, you will be contacted by the ISF sports department from which you will receive a defined timeline of your next actions,” read part of the letter.

“I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the ISF, for having committed yourself to these duties within the ISF, and further supporting the development of ISF events and the experiences of school students within the world. We are certain that the work that you will carry out over the next four years, will tremendously contribute to the growth and development of goals, legacy, and values within the ISF movement,” It read.

Mugisha was appointed to this position four years ago and his re-appointment comes after the visit of the ISF president Laurent Petrynka to the East Africa region, during the FEASSSA games in Arusha, Tanzania last week.

Petrynka, who expressed happiness at how the schools' games in this region were being organized, even went further to award Mugisha together with Uganda minister of sports Peter Ogwang and Tanzania Heads of Secondary Schools Association (TAHOSSA) president Frank Mahenge, with the highest Honor of International School Sport Federation (ISF) awards.

Mugisha will continue his duties with next year’s ISF world schools games in Morocco and ISF U15 games in Brazil.
