FIM Central Africa Motocross Championship

Twelve years down the road, Kenya has failed to dethrone Uganda in the FIM Central Africa Motocross Championship.

This year, the Kenya team will visit Uganda for the regional event to be hosted in Kalisizo  Kyotera district on March 23-24,2024 targeting to break that jinx.

This will be the first upcountry district to host an international motorcycling event since the inception of the sport in the country.

E-Villas Racing Track in Greater Masaka will host the two-day regional event and is expected to attract racers from Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, DRC, and hosts Uganda.

“We are excited as a federation to see that we have got facilities outside Kampala that can host international events and we thank the proprietors for such trust,” Kibira said.

The event in Kyotera will be the third motorcycling event in the area and Ugandan riders will take advantage of the track they have raced on twice.

Clerk of the course, George Ssemakula noted that the track is in final touches and will be open for Uganda's training from March 16-20.

Uganda is expected to field a strong team led by Fortune Sentamu and Wazir Omar in the MX1, Waleed Omar, Milton Akaki, Jeremiah Mawanda, Milton Obote, and Telvin Jjunju (MX2).

Gift Sebuguzi, Ron Young (MX125cc), Jerome  Mubiru, Ethan Jesa,(MX85), Ramathan Mubiru, Jonathan Katende, Larry Sekamwa, Ashraf Junior, Ethan Musedde, Filbert Muwonge, Isaac Mitima,(MX65).

In the 50cc class, Jude Kyle Musedde, Abigail Katende, Noel Ssekamwa Edric Musedde, Faith Deedan, Faith Mbabazi, and Solomon Winyi will lead the battle for medals.

The event is supported by Worldwide Movers, Shell V-power, and Mountain Dew.
