Uganda fans travel to Kenya for the 2023 World Rally Championship
Despite Uganda having no competitor at the 2023 World Rally Championship in Kenya, Ugandan fans will still travel in big numbers to support their favourite drivers.
The first group of fans left on Monday to Naivasha for the Shake Down on Thursday, June 22, then head to Nairobi for the super special stage and the rally from Friday to Sunday.
Sponsored by Friends Bus Coach, the fans left the National Council of Sports, Lugogo on Monday afternoon.
Sulait Natukunda, the Friends Bus proprietor said, “It is unfortunate that Ugandan drivers are not competing in an event in the neighborhood. But for us, we are going to support our brothers in Kenya and other drivers.”
After six events, Kalle Rovanperä of Team Toyota leads the WRC table with 118 points, followed by Thierry Neuville of Hyundai, and Ott Tänak of team ford is in third position on the 35 competitors’ log.
The WRC safari rally starts on June 22 and ends on June 25.
