Raghav Dhawan scored 54 and Uganda beat Botswana by eight wickets to secure their first win of the T20 World Cup Africa Region Qualifiers.

 

Uganda are out of the running for World Cup qualification after losing to Zimbabwe and Tanzania in their first Group B games, but the victory over Botswana is an opportunity to finish fifth at the eight team tournament.

 

It is far from what Uganda wanted and will be considered as scant consolation.

 

Sumeet Verma scored 29 off 30 for Uganda, who had Riazat Shah and Dinesh Nakrani take two wickets apiece.

 

Next, the Cricket Cranes play the fifth-place playoff, most likely against Kenya.
