Morocco is the highest-ranked African team and 14th in the world.

The North African country’s progress has been as a result of years of investment and the farsighted strategy established by His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

One of the several strategies is capacity building in all sectors –and in domestic football for this particular case through the Moroccan football association.

This week, a training course to obtain the CAF A license started in Agadir on Monday November 20, 2023, with thirty participants, including 25 former top-level Moroccan players looking forward to acquiring better skills.

Organized by the Direction Technique Nationale (DTN) until next Friday, in collaboration with the Ligue Régionale Souss-Massa, the course will also see the participation of four coaches from partner African associations in Nigeria, Togo and Congo.

The program for this session includes theoretical sessions in the classroom, model sessions led by experts, practical situations for candidates led by CAF and UEFA experts, as well as mentoring and methodology sessions.

Morocco were awarded the hosting of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals on Wednesday, replacing Guinea who were stripped of the right to host the tournament last year.

The North African country was a runaway favourite and will see the decision as a boost to their hopes of co-hosting the 2030 World Cup with Portugal and Spain.
