The Kalenjins of Uganda: Kenya's athletics cousins

The Ugandan Kalenjin herd cattle and own large swathes of farmland in their native Kapchorwa-Kongasis swamp near Kitale, the north Rift Valley provincial town which is popular for producing almost half the supply of Kenyan maize. They speak Kupsabiny and their population is estimated to be 230,000. They are, for all practical purposes, Kalenjins.
