Aboojo and Ismaili moved one step away from history after reaching the final of the UG T20 Cup on Sunday at Entebbe.

Aboojo defeated GM Sugar by 21 runs, while Ismaili beat Avengers by 12 in the semis to come within a victory of claiming a maiden piece of silverware.

For Aboojo, victory was built on Pascal Murungi's match-best 57, clobbered off 26 balls.

For Ismaili, Pervaiz Ali scored a game-best 40, but this was a largely collective effort. Shezhad Khan added 26 for Ismaili, who raced to 121/10 in 20 overs.

Avengers' response was led by David Wabwire with a team-best 32 runs.

Abraiz Ali, Nasta Girish and Yashashvi Joshi added 28, 23 and 11 runs respectively, but Ghulam Hunzai and Junaid Khan took two wickets apiece as Ismaili held on for victory.

Aboojo were more commanding in their defence, thanks to Brian Asaba return of 2/2 in one over. Dan Amani and Joseph Baguma added one wicket apiece.

Next up for Aboojo and Ismaili, an opportunity to win silverware.
