Silverbacks eye roster upgrade for AfroBasket

"If we can have (Arthur) Kaluma and (Adam) Seiko back, and add two or three other players, we will have a better squad (than what we had for the qualifiers)," Silverbacks chief scout Albert Ahabwe told New Vision.

The Uganda Silverbacks recently booked their ticket to AfroBasket 2025 after qualifying as the highest ranked fourth-based qualifier.

But any hopes of success in Angola will largely depend on what improvements the Silverbacks make to their roster.

"If we can have (Arthur) Kaluma and (Adam) Seiko back, and add two or three other players, we will have a better squad (than what we had for the qualifiers)," Silverbacks chief scout Albert Ahabwe told New Vision.

Uganda also expects to have head coach George Galanopoulos available for the Finals after his absence throughout the qualifiers.

If all goes as planned, the Silverbacks will feel they have enough arsenal to compete for a place in the knockouts.

"It also depends on the draw you get at the tournament," explained Ahabwe.

"If we get a good group, we could go far in the tournament."

The Silverbacks reached the quarters at the last Afrobasket, finishing sixth overall.
