South African golfer Jacques Kruyswijk shot a third-round 7-under 64 to climb to the top of the leaderboard ahead of the final round of the Magical Kenya Open presented by Absa.

Kruyswijk notched seven birdies in a flawless, bogey-free round to ensure he gained ground on the overnight leader, Englishman John Parry, and now leads by one stroke.

Another South African, Deon Germishuys, played 3-under 67, laced with five birdies, to overtake Frenchman Benjamin Hebert, who struggled on the day and finished with a 4-over 74, having picked three bogeys and a triple on the par-5 hole 4.

The South African entered the third round trailing by seven shots from the leader, but while others faced difficulties in the breezy weather at Muthaiga Golf Club, Kruyswijk made seven birdies in a perfect performance, putting him one shot ahead as he heads into the final day.

Kruyswijk, looking for his maiden DP World Tour title, birdied all the par 5s except hole seven, as well as the par-3 and par-4 12 and 17, to set himself on course.
