Fresh from a dominant performance at the Dolphins Junior Championships, Sailfish Swim Club has set its sights on even bigger prizes this season, with a renewed focus on the Uganda Aquatics National League and the National Championships due in July.

Sailfish head coach Joseph Kabogaza believes the recent victory has injected confidence and hunger into the team as they prepare for tougher competitions ahead.

“The win gave our swimmers a lot of motivation, and they are now hungry for more victories,” Kabogaza said.

The club’s long-term ambition this year extends beyond local success. Sailfish is targeting strong representation on the national team that will compete at the Africa Aquatics Zone III Championships, set to be hosted in Kampala this November.

Sailfish clinched the junior championship title in emphatic fashion, accumulating 465.5 points, thanks to standout performances from Emmanuel Mutebi, Abigeal Muttamba, and Barack Etot.

Hosts Dolphins Swim Club finished second with 279.5 points, while Altona Swim Club came third with 248.5 points.

The one-day event, organized by Dolphins Swim Club and held at Kampala Parents on April 18, attracted more than 300 swimmers from 17 clubs, highlighting the growing competitiveness of swimming in Uganda.
