The Fortebet Real Stars Awards continue to offer extra motivation to the different winners including the seven that were singled out for March Awards.

Cranes striker Rogers Mato's performance for club and country, especially his strike against Tanzania in an AFCON qualifier in Tanzania, Darts player Sarah Makanga’s golden performance in the women's singles, in the first African Darts Championships, and the crew of Yasin Nasser/Ali Katumba second place finish in the second round of the Africa Rally Championship in Kenya were some of the achievements that were recognized from the month.

In addition, boxer Latib Muwonge’s African Boxing Union (ABU) Super Lightweight title triumph past Tanzanian Clement Abuto, Woodball player Joyce Nalubega’s first Beach Woodball Circuit win, rugby player Kobs’ Collins Kimbowa’s energetic displays in the five matches that his club all won and youngster and table tennis player Parvin Nangozi’s efforts in helping Uganda qualify for the Eastern Africa Regional Senior Championships after a regional championship in Mauritius were the other recognitions that were made at the awards ceremony held at Lazio Restaurant in Kololo on Tuesday.

The awardees were immediately sent to dreamland after they each received their awards from Fortebet ambassador Alex Muhangi, Jude Color Solutions’ Henry Zzimbe, and Isaac Mukasa, the CEO of the awards.

“Whenever you win you always aim higher because this is a monthly award but I would like to be at least an MVP for the season and also win the Rugby Player of the Year Award. So, I have a long way to go but I think it's achievable with my teammates and personal efforts,” Kimbowa said.

“It’s a great achievement for me as an individual and Uganda’s and Kobs rugby at large. I appreciate everyone that has been there for me in my journey,”

The award sent boxer Muwonge dreaming of winning the WBC title because ‘he is ready to vie for it any time it is offered’ because he is now a ranked boxer.

“I also want to shine like our former boxing legends like Ayub Kalule, Godfrey Nyakana, and the like because they opened the door and I would like to carry on their legacies,” Muwonge stated.

Ahead of the Beach Woodball World Cup, Nalubega wants the award to inspire her to even more glory this year so that she not only wins gold in July at the World Cup but also defends his Woodball Player of the Year Award.

“This is a good opener for the year and I think I will be able to retain the title. I thank the Public Service team for signing me up to play for them this year and I promise them consistent performances,” Nalubega promised.

For 14-year-old Nakasero Table Tennis Club's Nangozi, her dream is to become an African Champion in four years.

“I feel good and so happy for having won my first award and I hope I can win more,” Nangozi stated.

After Cranes striker Mato struck late to salvage some hope for the team’s AFCON qualification campaign, he said it was a dream come true as he had always dreamt of scoring for Uganda on such big occasions. That particular goal won him recognition.
