After signing new players and strengthening their squad, Police Netball Club is ready to make a statement at the National Netball Rally, scheduled from Thursday, March 26, to Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Kaddugala Secondary School in Masaka.
Team manager Esther Ssendagala says the timing of the tournament is ideal, as it serves as a preparation for the upcoming Netball Uganda Super League in April.
“This tournament is a test for our players to assess their fitness and performance. Since many of the teams we will face also play in the league, it gives our coaches an opportunity to identify areas for improvement. We are expecting to put on a big show this Thursday,” Ssendagala explained.
The National Rally is the second event on the Netball Uganda calendar this year, following the National Novices tournament held earlier this month. It brings together clubs, institutions, and schools, including both primary and secondary levels, creating a platform for talent scouting and competitive exposure.
Police head coach Florence Abalo expressed confidence in her team’s readiness. “After last year’s league, we reviewed our squad and realized we needed new players to strengthen the team. We have done that, and the squad is in better shape. We are hopeful for great results at the rally,” Abalo said.
The competition will feature fierce battles across categories. NIC are the defending champions at the club level, while Uganda Christian University (UCU) holds the title in the institutional category.
