Despite the sponsorship stand-off between some top clubs and the Uganda Rugby Union, Uganda Cup games will go on as scheduled.

Eight games are expected to be played on Saturday in different parts of the country.

The Stanbic Black Pirates travel to Kitgum to face Kitgum Lions in must must-win match on Saturday, November 25, to keep their hopes of qualifying for the next stage in the Uganda Cup.

The league champions suffered a big upset last weekend when they lost 13-3 to the Eagles in their opening fixture of the Cup tournament.

The club sporting director Denis Etuket attributed the defeat to missing over 10 players who are with the national 7s and 15s aside teams.

However, he also urged the available players to pick up themselves and showcase their potential.

“We have so many players, so those available have the challenge to showcase their ability in this game,” Etuket said.

In the other weekend games the Platinum Credit Heathens travel to the Tourism City Fort portal where they will face Tooro Lions.

Heathens won their opening game 30-0 against Kyambogo in the opening game and will look up to that.

In the other fixtures Gulu Falcons host Rhinos in Gulu, Kobs travel to Mbarara to face Mbarara Titans, while Plascon Mongers host Warriors in the Nile Special funded tournament.
