The green and white of Nigeria was present in the stands, illustrating the full backing for The Super Eagles.

The Angolan supporters were also as colourful, committing their support for their team.

Nigeria's Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro was set ahead of kickoff.

His opposite, Angola's Portugese coach Pedro Goncalves, was also ready for the contest.

And once the ball got rolling, it was an intense encounter, with the physical nature of the game shown in this picture as Angola's defender Eddie Afonso (#21) battles for the ball with Nigeria's defender Zaidu Sanusi.

The aerial challenges were this fierce...

The look on Angola's defender To Carneiro says it all.

And some of those aerial challenges produced casualties...

After their aerial battle, Osimhen and Buatu went crashing on the ground, needing medical attention. They would soon be back up on their feet to resume play.

The ground duels were equally intense...

The Buatu vs Osimhen duel was a common one in this game.

Eventually, only one team had to reign supreme: Nigeria.

These Nigerian fans know that their team is only two games away from potentially lifting their fourth Africa Cup of Nations trophy.
