Despite suffering back-to-back defeats over the weekend, Pearl Darts Club has promised to bounce back in their next league fixture against Bank of Uganda.
Team captain Lincoln Amodoi made the assurance after his side lost 7–5 to visiting Kakira in matches played at Mamerito Hotel, Wakiso District.
Amodoi attributed the defeats to a lack of training, noting that the team has not been practicing together and players are yet to regain their rhythm on the board.
“We tried our best but lost to Kakira (7–5) and to title contenders Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) (10–2). We are going to train and return strong against Bank of Uganda over the weekend,” Amodoi said.
He added that Pearl had convincingly beaten Bank of Uganda 10–2 in the first leg and now aims for an even bigger margin in the return fixture.
Elsewhere, Uganda Cancer Institute thrashed Leisure-Tec 10–2, while the UPDF game was postponed. The clash between Police and Silver Springs was also called off as security forces were deployed during the ongoing election process.
The 11-team league resumes next month with a full slate of fixtures: Kakira versus Uganda Prisons, KOBs against UPDF, Silver Springs versus Leisure-Tec, Pearl facing Bank of Uganda, and Uganda Cancer Institute taking on Uganda Wildlife Authority.
