Paul Kabaikaramu has stepped down as Uganda Premier League (UPL) Manager after serving for 14 years and 7 months. He handed over office on Monday, June 30, 2025.
“What a journey it has been—over 14 years serving as Uganda Super League Manager, a role I was honoured to hold,” Kabaikaramu wrote in his farewell message.
“I am proud to have served football in such a sensitive, important, and challenging position for so long. I leave with my head held high.”
Kabaikaramu joined the league setup in 2010 and was appointed League Manager in 2014 under FUFA Super League Limited (FSLL), the body that manages the league on behalf of FUFA.
“It hasn’t been a smooth journey throughout—there have been both highs and lows. But it was never a one-man effort; it was a collective journey,” he reflected.
During his tenure, the Uganda Premier League made significant strides in club management and fan engagement. Kabaikaramu worked closely with clubs, sponsors, and supporters to grow the game nationwide.
In an official statement, FUFA Super League Limited commended Kabaikaramu’s dedication and long-standing service.
“Mr. Kabaikaramu has served the Uganda Premier League with distinction for nearly 15 years, demonstrating unwavering dedication, professionalism, and integrity,” FSLL stated.
“His contributions, particularly in competitions management, have greatly enhanced the operational efficiency and development of the League,” the statement added.
Although stepping down from his current role, Kabaikaramu confirmed he is not leaving football entirely.
“I will still be involved in football, likely in a different capacity,” he said.
The 2025/26 season is set to kick off on September 26. FSLL has appointed Eric Eron Owori as the new Acting League Manager. Owori previously served as the League Statistician under Kabaikaramu.
“Mr. Owori assumes the role starting July 1, 2025, and we are confident in his ability to continue advancing the League,” FSLL announced.
