Kinyara Golf Club player James Joash Okema got the biggest surprise of his life when he hit a hole-in-one during the MTN Monthly Tee tournament at Entebbe Club on Saturday.

Okema, 31, who plays off handicap 22 met the surprising achievement at the par-3-hole-number-12 on in the club’s season opener that attracted 173 players.

Playing alongside Michael Ssekadde, Timothy Okanya and Timothy Lwanga, Okema hit the ace with an eight-iron and a Titleist 2 black pro V ball. He said this was his first-ever ace since joining the game of golf in 2021.

“The secret was precision and being formal on the template where I made just the right stroke. This was my first time to achieve a hole in one,” noted Okema who has two years of experience in golf.

Okema now prays he can replicate the same swing especially during big events where a car is staked for the hole-in-one achiever.
