Oilers look for second win in a row

The Oilers looked like frontrunners again as they outplayed the Blazers on Friday and should make it two wins in a row

Today

Women: UPDF v Miracle

Men: Oilers v UPDF

The City Oilers got their season underway with a win that confirmed all their best hopes for the season.

UPDF were given an instant reminder about the threats and risks that await.

Today, the two sides renew their National Basketball League (NBL) acquaintances at the YCMA as the Tomahawks look to recover from a humbling beatdown from the Rez Life Saints. UPDF lost 83-63 to Rez Life in a performance that would have alarmed Tomahawks coach Mandy Kyambadde about his team’s readiness to survive.

Respectfully, though, UPDF’s survival will not be decided by games against the likes of the Oilers. Still, the Tomahawks can do with an improved performance against the title-chasing Oilers, whose campaign got off to a morale-boosting start, securing a 74-65 victory over defending champions Namuwongo Blazers.

The Oilers looked like frontrunners again as they outplayed the Blazers on Friday and should make it two wins in a row, something they saw precious little of last season.
