Hundreds of Christians and well-wishers from Nsambya Catholic Parish participated in a fundraising marathon on Saturday to support the completion of the parish's commercial building.

The event, which began at the parish premises, successfully raised over sh23moward the construction project.

The marathon was graced by Fabian Kasi, Managing Director of Centenary Bank, who served as the chief runner alongside parishioners and supporters. The initiative aims to secure funds for finishing the building's fourth floor, with eventual plans to complete the sixth floor.

Parish Priest Fr. Joseph Ssemanda expressed gratitude for the contributions, stating, "Today's collection brings us closer to completing the first phase. Every donation moves us forward as we work toward our ultimate goal." He highlighted Centenary Bank's consistent support since construction began in 2022, along with sponsorships from APPVILLA Properties, Nsambya Hospital, and Mukwaya Hospital.

Fr. Ssemanda explained that the marathon forms part of broader fundraising efforts for the commercial building, which will serve as a sustainable income source for parish activities.

In his remarks, Kasi shared his personal connection to the parish: "This church holds special meaning for me—it's where I completed my catechism in 1983. I'm honored to support this noble cause today."

The event demonstrated strong community commitment to the parish's development, with organisers pledging to continue fundraising efforts until project completion.
