The Uganda Netball Federation Normalisation Committee(NC) has invited stakeholders for a consultative meeting set for Thursday at the Uganda Olympic Committee.

The letter was timely and it is expected to handle four agenda points which include the mandate of the NC, the roadmap of the UNF NC, the 2024 UNF calendar events and Open forum and other relevant business.

Yahaya Ssengabi, a former publicity Secretary at the UNF and a manager with WOB men's netball team has confirmed receipt of the letter. 

"We have seen a letter where the Normalisation Committee has invited club managers 

 and stakeholders to go for a meeting on February 29 where they will deliberate and hope that the pride of netball can be restored," he explained.

The last few months have been touch and go an many stakeholders

Ssengabi spoke on behalf of the netball lovers. He tried to highlight some of things those who love netball  have grappled with during this period of uncertainty. 

He has urged for sanity to return and it will start with bringing in people who have netball at heart. 

"As we go  into the planning process of how to get new leaders. Let us get leaders who are in for the game for the right reason.

Those that will come to inject money into the sport, not those who will come because they have heard there is money in netball and organize the boys and girls such that our pride in netball comes back, "  explained Yahaya.

With this meeting the hope is that the committee will can adopt some of his suggestions 

"I understand the normalization committee is very busy so I urge them to come up with a technical committee that can help because we are going into a scenario where we shall be selecting a youth team and we cannot do that without games," he said. 

District Associations have been urged to have their constitutions registered so that  by the time the league comes, they are not left out.
