The National Netball Super League Division One resumed with four games on Wednesday at Police Children’s School in Kibuli.
Table leaders NIC were back to winning ways as they defeated Police by 67-42 as they cemented their place at the top of the league. With this performance, NIC is now undisputed at the top of the table and it is going to take a herculean effort for them to be upended.
Makindye Weyonje also showed they can compete against the best teams with a comprehensive 60-47 win over UCU. This victory has left UCU in fifth place with six points while Police are only two points ahead.
The big winner of the day was KCCA who defeated UGX Luwero by 53-41 while their match against KBK was a walkover thus earning a 60-0 win over their opponents.
KCCA had only played one match before yesterday so the pressure was on for them to pick up two wins on a day when they had a doubleheader.
This victory has put the girls into seventh place as they jumped out of the relegation zone for now. KCCA had lost both of their previous matches against direct rivals Weyonje and Prisons by a single point so this result comes at a time when the team needed to boost their confidence.
Other than KCCA who have played only four games in the league the rest of the league is soldiering on well towards the second round with NIC picking up all available 16 points from the eight matches they played.
