NEC has qualified for the Uganda Premier League for the first time To achieve this, the Kampala-based side beat Kataka 4-1 away at Mbale Municipal Stadium in the final game of the FUFA Big League on Thursday.

They should have gone ahead to score more goals before halftime but they were wasteful as the first half ended 1-0.
In the second half, Marvin Kavuma and Julius Walugembe’s brace saw NEC win 4-1.
Their victory saw them move to 57 points, three above the Police whom they battled with for third place. They joined FUFA Big League champions Kitara and second-placed Mbarara City who had qualified earlier.
