Ndejje University looks set to defend their overall crown at the 19th edition of the Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS) Games, thanks to a dominant showing in athletics.
The Luwero-based side has already amassed 15 medals—six gold, four silver, and five bronze, placing them seven ahead of closest rivals Uganda Christian University (UCU), who stand at eight.

In the women’s events, Orishaba Marvelous shone brightest, clinching double gold in the 1500m and 5000m races, while Jenneth Lakica added another top finish in the javelin. The men’s team matched that success with three gold medals: Munguleni Deo in the 100m, Peter Akemkwene in the 1500m, and Solomon Emojong in the long jump.

Hosts UCU currently sit second with eight medals, including three golds from the women’s category, alongside three silver and two bronze. Kampala University occupies third place with three medals (two silver, one bronze), while Gulu University follows in fourth, buoyed by Alfred Nokrach’s gold in the men’s shot put.
Bugema University, Bishop Stuart University, Kampala International University, and Makerere University round out the standings in fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth positions respectively.
