National Basketball League Finals

Today, Lugogo
Women: JKL v Jaguars
Men: Oilers v Namuwongo

Namuwongo Blazers' Game 3 win breathed life back into the National Basketball League (NBL) Finals just when fears of a one-sided series were mounting.

Later today at Lugogo, the Blazers can level the series at two games apiece with a a second consecutive victory over the record champions.

Namuwongo were outfoxed by the Oilers in the first two games of the best-of-seven affair, as the champions controlled the contests down the stretch with the sort of maturity that has marked most of their championship runs.

On Tuesday, Namuwongo flipped the script, showing coolness and assuredness down the stretch, thanks in large part to the presence of Tony Drieba, who was making his debut in the series following an injury layoff.

The hope and crowds that were starting to dwindle should be back as the Blazers look to get their quest for their first NBL title back on firmer course.

Yet the Oilers have an established tradition of bouncing back after playoff defeats. They have done it twice this postseason already.
