The newly constructed Nakivubo Stadium will host the Moses Golola vs Umar Semata kickboxing trilogy.

Their trilogy is officially confirmed to be the first combat sport mega fight to be held at the new multi-sports complex built by businessman Hamis Kiggundu.

The duo’s epic kickboxing thriller is set for May this year on a yet-to-be-confirmed date.

“I’m glad to announce we have started plans to have the Golola–Umar Semata trilogy at Nakivubo Stadium. As I recently stated, Nakivubo Stadium is for all Ugandans. The ball is now in their hand to see how they must utilise it to the fullest,” Kiggundu said.

“Golola is undoubtedly Uganda’s kickboxing legend who deserves more. I have previously stood with him in preparations for his fights. This time it has to be something much bigger.”

Before the announcement of this trilogy, Golola had a firsthand touch to train at the now officially opened uHam Fitness and Boxing Gym inside the stadium.

The motor-mouthed kickboxer couldn’t hide his impression of how Kiggundu has changed the face of Nakivubo and his contribution to the sports sector.

“The magnitude of how Ham has changed Nakivubo is unmatched, unrivaled, and unequaled,” Golola said.

“I’m humbled that the big man has endorsed my trilogy with Semata. I have already started my training and can’t wait to send this Katwe-Lipanda short man into retirement.”

Yasin Kiggundu, the head of accounting at Ham Group of Companies and brother to Kiggundu was in attendance and confirmed their readiness to see the two Ugandan kickboxing lions tussle it out.

“Many of the boxers and kickboxers in the country are like brothers to us. I have little to add on but my guarantee is we are waiting for this D-day".

Commenting on their much-anticipated trilogy, Semata is confident he will knock out Golola.

“I have waited for this chance but finally Golola has answered my prayers. I commend Hajji Hamis Kiggundu for pioneering this. I can confirm to him I’m going to knock out Golola. He is now a mismatch for me,” Semata said.

Golola-Semata's fierce rivalry has over the years left their fans asking for more.

Golola-Semata faced off twice in 2018 and 2019  at Freedom City in Najjanankumbi, Kampala.

Their first duel witnessed Semata defeat his counterpart by unanimous decision before Golola knocked out Semata in the fourth round during their rematch.
