Uganda’s super-lightweight boxer Latibu “Dancing Master” Muwonge has promised a decisive victory over Tanzania’s Ali Mkojani when the two meet for the World Boxing Federation (WBF) Intercontinental title.

The ten-round bout is set for Liberation Day, March 6, 2026, at the scenic De Rain Eco Beach Resort in Entebbe, marking the first professional boxing event to be staged at the lakeside venue.

The fight carries added intrigue as a rematch of their 2022 clash, which Muwonge won by unanimous decision. Speaking at the official launch, attended by former Uganda Professional Boxing Commission president and Kampala Central Division Mayor Salim Uhuru, Muwonge was confident of extending his dominance.

“Losing to Mkojani is not an option. I’m ready to add this WBF super-lightweight title to my trophy cabinet as I continue chasing bigger titles,” Muwonge said.
He added: “I urge Mkojani to say his last prayers. I have defeated him before, but this time I’m coming for a decisive finish. I am ready to serve him as a Ramadan gift to my Muslim fans.”

Muwonge, a former Africa Boxing Union (ABU) champion, faces his eighth Tanzanian opponent in his professional career. Of the previous seven, he has beaten five, with losses to Abbada Ferouz Cadabra and Salmin Kassim. Since turning professional in 2019, the fighter, sponsored by State House, Special Forces Command (SFC), and philanthropist Hajji Hamis Kiggundu, has compiled a 14-11-0 record. Victory would secure the WBF belt and boost his global ranking.

Mkojani, who holds a 13-9-4 record, enters the fight seeking revenge after Muwonge handed him one of his four career defeats in their earlier encounter.

The undercard will feature several explosive matchups, including bantamweight Lt. Mzeei Aldine against Tanzania’s Dalmas Kyalo, cruiserweight Ignatius Onyango versus Uganda Police’s Ivan “Bornes Bornes” Magumba, and heavyweight Joseph Mpungu against Elia Mukama, among others.
