Fresh off a commanding win at the autocross event in Sisa along Entebbe Road, Subaru GVB driver Edson Mungyereza now sets his sights on this weekend’s Garuga Premier Sprint.

Mungyereza clocked an impressive time of 7 minutes, 25.3 seconds at Sisa, and he’s confident he can match or beat that performance on the Garuga track.

“Trust me, I’ll be ready for another strong performance. Let them pair me with anyone that day,” he declared.

The Garuga Sprint marks the second round of the National Sprint Championship, drawing over 40 drivers. Last month’s opening round was claimed by Subaru N10 driver Oscar Ntambi, who currently tops the championship standings.

Beyond scoring points in the sprint championship, the Garuga event doubles as a crucial warm-up for drivers preparing for the fifth round of the National Rally Championship in August.

Adding to the thrill, the sixth round of the National Motocross Championship will kick off the day as curtain raisers. More than 50 riders are expected, including standout siblings Jamira Makumbi (65cc class) and Ashraf Makumbi (85cc class). Fresh from finishing 3rd and 4th respectively in Tanzania, they aim to bring the same firepower to Garuga.
