Ndejje University Dean of Students Wilfred Kato Muhumuza has been voted as the best Dean of Students for 2023 in East Africa.
He consequently scooped the prestigious Uongozi Career Award at a gala organised by the Corporate Career Academy Kenya.
It is a platform that was launched in 2022 to recognize, celebrate and amplify efforts of individuals and institutions championing career development, employability skills, leadership, and initiatives in advancing the career and job readiness among the in-school and out-school youth around the East African Community.
The gala was held on November 22-23 at the Catholic University of East Africa where outstanding deans were recognized. Muhumuza beat ten other nominees that included Mohamed Adan from Masai Mara University, Samuel Wakanyua from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Alan Maina (Kirinyaga University), Benjamin Kanga from Chuka University and Johnson Kinywa from the University of Nairobi.
The others were Japheth Mburugu (Egerton University), Prof. Fredah Wanzala (Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Nicholas Mwaura - Riara University and Joel Awino from the Technical University of Mombasa.
“Am very appreciative of those who nominated me, it is always a great privilege and honour for someone to recognize your efforts and potential, I thank everyone that prayed for me” Muhumuza stated.
