Mr. Lubega Open Bodybuilding Championship
April, 26, 2026. Simba Valley Pub-Busega
Bantamweight Farouk 'The Lion' Miyagi and welterweight Muhammad Galiwango will headline a lineup of bodybuilders vying for this year's Mr. Lubega Open Bodybuilding Championship crown.
Named after Godfrey Lubega, the 2019 Mr. Kampala and 2022 Mr. Uganda bodybuilding champion, the championship will take centre stage at Simba Valley Pub in Busega, a Kampala suburb located in Rubaga Municipality.
Over 100 bodybuilders are set to grace the stage to flex their muscles for the coveted crown.
The overall winner will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Nairobi, Kenya, along with a fully funded sponsorship slot to compete at this year's East Africa Bodybuilding Championship in the same country.
For Miyagi, the contest presents a perfect platform to send an early warning to his rivals ahead of the forthcoming Mr. Central Region, Mr. Kampala, and Mr. Uganda championships.
"This will be more like a warm-up battle for me," Miyagi confidently noted during the official launch of the championship at Simba Valley Pub.
He added, "I'm more than ready to beat anyone to the crown. Trust me, I'm going to outmuscle all my competitors."
But Galiwango, one of his fiercest challengers, remained unfazed, telling journalists, "I'm not a man of many words but action. I have trained well, my muscles are in good shape, and the stage will be the ultimate judge."
Event organiser Lubega said the championship is set to be more than just a competition—rather, a platform to discover and nurture the next generation of talent in Ugandan bodybuilding.
"My dream has always been to build a lasting legacy for Ugandan bodybuilding. The Lubega Open is just a drop in the ocean, and a lot is coming."
With pride, power, and prestige on the line, fans can expect a thrilling showcase of muscle and determination as Uganda's finest physiques battle for supremacy in Busega.
