As part of its corporate social responsibility, Corporate Sports Network (CSN) has announced plans to renovate the Luzira Prisons basketball court.

The initiative is a gesture of appreciation to Uganda Prisons Services for hosting last season’s games at the Maroons playground inside Luzira Prison.

CSN Games chairperson Simeone Kawuma confirmed the development during the launch of the 2025 season at Hotel Africana in Kampala on February 10, 2025. The new season is set to kick off on February 23 at Maroons Grounds in Luzira.

“We are committed to giving back to the community. Last year, we sponsored a child from Luzira prison by paying his school fees. This season, we are focusing on renovating the basketball court inside Luzira Prison to appreciate them for being great hosts,” Kawuma stated.

Kawuma also highlighted the league’s expansion, with the number of participating teams rising from 34 last season to 40 this year.

Corporate Sports Network general manager Charles Ssempagala welcomed the new entrants, which include the Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA), ABSA Bank, Bank of Africa, Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UBOS), Equity Bank, Autocheck Uganda, and Kyambogo University.

“We are excited to have these new companies on board. This platform provides a unique opportunity for team building, corporate visibility, and networking,” Ssempagala noted.

In a move to cater to all corporate participants, CSN has introduced dart-throwing, a sport tailored for executives such as CEOs and MDs who prefer a less physically demanding activity.

Meanwhile, all sports disciplines from last season—including football, swimming, woodball, netball, basketball, athletics, tug of war, fun games, pool, and volleyball—have been retained.

Matches will be played at multiple venues, including Maroons Grounds, MUBS Arena Nakawa, Hamz Stadium Nakivubo, and the outside pitch of Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
