Super Lightweight Latibu ‘Dancing Master’ Muwonge has vowed to return to winning ways against Kenya’s Paul Kimani.

Muwonge who boasts of the Africa Boxing Union (ABU) title takes on Kimani on August 17, 2024, in a highly billed eight rounds contest at Zana playgrounds along Entebbe Road.

It will barely mark 157 days since the stylist boxer lost a chance to win the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa superlightweight title when he was unanimously beaten by Ghanian Faisol Abubakari on March 2, in Accra, Ghana.

Besides the setback in his last fight, the Great Strikers promotion-backed boxer looks set to rediscover his mojo.

“I’m back, stronger and re-energized. My target is to get back on my feet and thump this Kenyan. This Kenyan can’t survive on a venue that has raised me since my childhood,”  Muwonge told Vision Sport.

“I’m going to dedicate this victory to my fans who missed a chance to witness me when Ghanaians robbed my victory in broad daylight”.

Against Kimani, Muwonge will also seek to improve his 10-1-0 ring record.

Dubbed ‘The return of the dancing master’, the event also has electric Isaac 'Sparta' Ssebuufu, brother to Olympian David Ssemujju on the card.

Ssebuufu takes on another Kenyan Raphael Muntua.

“My last fight ended in a second-round knockout victory against a Kenyan on their home soil. I urge my fans to come early since I’m also similarly winning this one” Ssebuufu vowed.

Flyweight Innocent Tumusiime, fresh from winning Uganda a bronze medal at the 2024 Africa games in Ghana will make his pro debut against literally known Geoffrey Mubiru.

The KCCA Boxing club pugilist has shockingly retired from the national boxing team ‘The Bombers’ and takes on Mubiru in a six-round contest.

Robert Wasswa, the Great Strikers promotions publicity revealed they intend to give back to the Zana Community, where Muwonge holds a big fan base on top of being a place where he grew up.
