Kyenjojo and Fort Portal districts will roar to life as hosts of the fifth round of the 2025 National Rally Championship (NRC), the UMC Fort Portal Tourism City Rally.

The event is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, August 23–24, marking a shift from the traditional Friday–Saturday format.

Covering a total of 280km, with 125km designated as competitive, the rally promises high-octane action across five stages, including a Super Special Stage in Kyenjojo.

Entry for the event opened on July 21 and will close on August 16, 2025.

According to Clerk of the Course Ahmed Ssemwanga, the rally will begin with documentation and a ceremonial start in Kyenjojo. “We shall start with the 17.3km stage, followed by the 16.3km stage, which will be repeated after service before heading to the Super Special Stage,” he explained.

After Day 1, crews will head to the overnight park ferme at Kalya Courts Hotel. On Sunday, they’ll report to the remote service at Boma Ground before tackling the 15.2km Mukwano stage. This will be followed by a 13.3km stage and then the 12.82km stage, which will serve as the Power Stage by midday. The prize-giving ceremony is scheduled for 3:00 PM.

KCB Marketing Officer Shiela Owori praised the Federation of Motorsport Uganda (FMU) for its efforts in promoting the sport and reaffirmed KCB’s commitment to supporting motorsport. “As a brand, we believe in people, and we’ll be planting 2,000 trees as part of our environmental protection strategy,” she said.

FMU official Reymond Kibira cautioned drivers of street vehicles like the Toyota Altezza and Subaru to avoid reckless driving. “Rally cars are specially protected. If you want to race, approach FMU through the proper channels so we can organize a regulated event,” he advised.

Following the Fort Portal rally, drivers will head to Gulu for the next round, before concluding the 2025 NRC season with the UMOSPOC Kabalega Rally across Masindi, Kikuube, and Hoima districts.

In the current NRC standings, Ronald Sebuguzi leads with 185 points, followed by Ponsiano Lwakataka (175), Musa Ssegaabwe (165.5), Duncan Mubiru (140), and Dida Masiko (124) in fifth place.
