Following his brutal knockout of Georgia’s Soso Abuladze early this year, Uganda’s heavyweight Willy ‘The ring tiger’ Kyakonye has vowed to crush his next opponent England’s Ryan Charles in the same fashion.

The two will trade blows on Saturday in the Dutch City of Den Haag in a much-anticipated WBO -Intercontinental heavyweight title elimination fight.

Their eight-round contest at the Ado Den Haag Rijswijk arena and the gigantic Netherland-based Ugandan boxer who is signed under Dutch Holzken Boxing Promotion Company is confident nothing will stop him from winning this fight.

“I’m here to rule boxing in the Netherlands. I have trained well and am ready to take on this Briton. I promise he will kiss the canvas. He has to go down," Kyakonye roared.

“My ambitions here in Europe are so big. I have conquered the heavyweight division here in the Netherlands and now focusing to rule Europe in years to come.”

His coach Vincent Stikkolorum similarly believes nothing will stop his fighter from that deserved win.

“We are set and ready to go. My fighter is in good shape. He is 100% fit. We have been in camp for the last two months and all we are looking at is to win this fight,”  Stikkolorum told Vision Sport.

This will be Kyakonye’s second fight this year, his first on January 28th saw the towering Ugandan fighter ferociously knock out Georgia’s Soso Abuladze in the first round.

Kyakonye is currently ranked first in the heavyweight division in the Netherlands and remains undisputed since making his professional boxing debut in 2018.

The former national boxing team ‘The Bombers’ sensation has won all his 10 professional fights, registering six knockouts on the turn.

His opponent Ryan boasts an 8-7-1 ring record winning seven of his eight fights before losing one.

Kyakonye remains the only Ugandan to have punched his way in the World Series of Boxing (WSB), a record he set between 2014 and 2016 in his days on the national team.

He won Uganda a light heavyweight bronze medal during the 2015 Morocco Africa boxing championship.
