"Our comrade Mercy Walukamba lost her parliamentary seat although she had all the DR forms. Party infights played a huge role in her failure and some of our candidates," Kyagulanyi said.

National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi has asked his party coordinators, registrars, and sub-region coordinators among others to
 resist infighting.

While addressing the leaders during the launch of the party structure and formation of the party road map on Monday, April 29, Kyagulanyi said infighting cost the party dearly in the last general election.

"Our comrade Mercy Walukamba lost her parliamentary seat although she had all the DR forms. Party infights played a huge role in her failure and some of our candidates," Kyagulanyi said.

He revealed that they are soon embarking on their phase two of the nationwide tour.

"Go and prepare that ground. We are coming to overturn it," Kyagulanyi said.

Using the same platform, Joel Ssenyonyi, the leader of the Opposition in Parliament, said that the regime is going to try to buy off coordinators and registrars, adding that the regime is only aimed at enriching them rather than helping them.

"Don't sell your future and people. As leaders, it is you to show the people the direction to take," Ssenyonyi said.

The registration exercise of the members is expected to start on May 1, 2024, till the end of the month.

Each card is to cost sh1000 to anyone who wants to register as a member.
