Kyaggwe FC has became the first team to qualify for this season’s Masaza Cup quarterfinals over the weekend.

Their 1-0 triumph over Mawogola FC was more than just a win, it was a statement of intent.

The victory earned Kyaggwe FC three vital points and catapulted them to the summit of the Muganzirwazza group with 18 points from eight matches. Remarkably, none of the other 17 teams have matched this feat, despite playing the same number of games.

Their dominance is clear: Kkooki FC trails in second place with 12 points, followed by Ssingo FC with 11. Kabula FC, Butambala FC, and Mawogola FC sit further down the table with 8, 6, and 5 points, respectively.

This surge in form comes on the heels of last season’s heartbreak, where Kyaggwe narrowly lost 1-0 to Buddu FC in the final. That defeat appears to have fueled their hunger, and they now look poised to mount a serious title challenge.

With two group-stage matches remaining, Kyaggwe FC will be focused on maintaining their momentum and sealing their place among the tournament’s elite. The road to redemption—and possibly the trophy—is wide open.
