Kyaddondo FC has officially unveiled a formidable 30-man squad, supported by an experienced coaching staff and a committed team of officials, as they gear up for the 2025 Masaza Cup tournament.
The club, whose last championship victory came in 2008 with a 2-0 win over Gomba FC at Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium, is determined to reclaim its former glory.
The unveiling ceremony took place at the club’s new home ground, Hamz Stadium, located at the historic Nakivubo War Memorial Grounds in the heart of Kampala. The event was presided over by team manager Joseph Mugisha and club chairperson Khalid Ssimbwa, and was graced by the presence of the Kabaka’s chief (Kaggo), Ahmed Magandaazi Matovu. A large crowd of enthusiastic fans also turned up to witness the occasion.
Speaking at the event, Mugisha expressed his optimism: “Dear Kaggo, I’m thrilled to present to you a squad of strong, tested, and approved players and officials—both men and women—ready to serve Kyaddondo FC. I believe this is the year we rewrite history and bring home our second title.”
Ahead of the unveiling, Kyaddondo FC played a friendly match against a team of ex-international players, which ended in a 1-1 draw. Sulaiman Ali Ssentongo scored for Kyaddondo, while Kenneth Kimera netted the equalizer for the veterans.
Kyaddondo has been placed in the competitive Masengere group, alongside Buweekula, Mawokota, Bugerere, Buvuma, and Bulemeezi. Their opening fixture is set for Saturday, June 28, 2025, against Bulemeezi at Nakivubo Stadium.
Last season, Kyaddondo FC made a notable run to the semifinals—their best performance since 2008—before being eliminated by defending champions Buddu FC with a 4-2 aggregate score. Despite a 1-1 draw in the second leg at Kitovu, they were unable to overturn the 3-1 deficit from the first leg.
