Parliament has facilitated the travel of para swimmer Husnah Kukundakwe and her mother Hashma Bamutaliza with two tickets for the Ken Demchuk Invitational event in Surrey British Columbia-Canada from December 1 to 3.

It's a Paris 2024 qualification event.

The national MP for persons with disability, Laura Kanushu represented the Speaker of Parliament Anita Among to handover the tickets to the athlete and her mother who will be handling her as the coach and guardian.

In her message, the speaker hailed para swimmer Husnah Kukundakwe for winning six medals at the 2021 World Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya – Turkey.

At the games, she brought home two gold medals, 3 silver, and a bronze in addition to other successes in local and international events.

“I want to say that we are proud of you Husnah as a country for defying and standing tall as a national pride. I want to applaud you for the crucial role you are playing in encouraging other children to believe in themselves and work hard to achieve their potential,” read part of the message by the speaker.

“As our humble contribution, we have taken care of the air tickets for Husnah and her mother and we are here to wish you all the luck in your competition.”
