Kitamirike tops the Entebbe May MTN Tees tournament in Entebbe
Playing a handicap of 23, Kitamirike edged his nearest challengers, Samson Agamile and Jamil Maningi, by two strokes to top a field of 161 contestants who showed up for the monthly event.

Steven Kitamirike carded an overall 66 nett to win the Entebbe Club MTN Monthly Tees Tournament for May at Entebbe Club on Saturday.
Playing a handicap of 23, Kitamirike edged his nearest challengers, Samson Agamile and Jamil Maningi, by two strokes to top a field of 161 contestants who showed up for the monthly event.
Kitamirike, who was featuring in his fourth event, moved a step better away from his 70th position in the order of merit standings, which he held before Saturday’s action.
Agamile consequently topped Group B, where Marvin Kagoro came second with 70 nett. Maningi also beat Timothy Okanya (68 nett) in Group C on countback in the one-day event, which produced new winners from those who won last month across the men’s groups.
In the women’s competition, defending champion Esther Aganyira, who topped last month’s contest as the overall winner, this time came up short, just edging Phionah Namanya in the ladies’ Group B after they all carded 69. Both players remained in the top five in the order of merit standings, where Jovia Tugume, who topped the ladies’ Group A with 76, remains a top contender with leader Peace Hellen.
