KCCA Ladies Volleyball Club coach Edward Bwenje says his team is ready for the 2026 National Volleyball League finals against Vision Volleyball Club.
“We are ready for the finals. The players have worked hard all season. We respect our opponents, but we are focused, determined, and prepared to fight strongly for the championship title,” Bwenje said.
The finals will be played in a best-of-three series, starting on Saturday, with the next games scheduled for April 11 and April 12 if necessary.
KCCA secured their place last weekend after defeating defending champions Sport-S 3–0 in game two of the semifinals, completing a strong performance to eliminate the title holders.
“The girls have followed instructions well and deserved the win. Now we shift focus to the final,” he added.
Their opponents, Vision Volleyball Club, also impressed after knocking out KCB Nkumba. VVC won 3–1 on Wednesday to take the series, having earlier leveled it with a 3–0 win in game two.
KCB Nkumba had gone into the playoffs unbeaten in the regular season but suffered their only loss at a crucial stage when VVC fought back to reach the finals.
“We respect VVC because they have shown strength and resilience coming from behind against a strong KCB side, but we are ready to compete,” Bwenje said.
This final brings back memories of last season when KCCA defeated VVC 3–0 in the semifinals. However, this time VVC will be aiming for revenge after showing great improvement this year.
Sport-S and KCB Nkumba will contest for bronze in the women’s category.
Men’s Final: Sport-S to Face Nemostars
In the men’s competition, Sport-S confirmed their place in the final after beating KCCA 3–1 and 3–0 in the semifinals. They will face Nemostars, who eliminated Elyon on Wednesday.
Nemostars topped the regular season standings with 48 points after winning 16 of their 18 matches and will be aiming to reclaim the title.
The final is a repeat of last season when Sport-S defeated Nemostars 3–0 to win their third straight league title and move to seven championships, one ahead of Nemostars.
Both teams are familiar with each other, setting up another tight contest. Sport-S aim to extend their dominance while Nemostars look to bounce back and reclaim the crown.
