The Kangaawo of Bulemeezi County in Buganda Kingdom, Ronald Mulondo, has unveiled the Bulemeezi FC team that will compete in this year’s Annual Buganda Masaza Cup Football Tournament.
He called on all supporters and fans to turn up in large numbers on match days and cheer the team to victory.
The 29 players were unveiled at a colourful ceremony at Kasana Sports Ground in Luweero, the home ground of Bulemeezi FC. The event, presided over by Ronald Mulondo in his capacity as Kangaawo, took place just a fortnight before the official kickoff of the 2026 Buganda Masaza Cup.

Ronald Mulondo urged the "Balyannaka" to fully support their football team to help lift the trophy this year, adding that such support is not an investment but an act of love and loyalty. "Also fully support the nominated leaders to enable them to lead efficiently. Today it is them, but tomorrow it will be you, and you will never lead efficiently without support," Mulondo added.
Mulondo also thanked Bulemeezi FC Patron Frank Mutalaga for taking the lead in financially supporting the club, and called on all residents of Bulemeezi County to follow his example.
Patron Frank Mutalaga used the occasion to warn opposing teams that Bulemeezi FC will not be a pushover this season, as they are competing for the trophy.
"My main aim is to ensure that our home ground becomes a fortress where opposing teams cannot get a win. Winning all our home matches and ensuring we do not lose away will see the team qualify from the group stages. Putting up all the necessary ingredients and buying the players has so far cost the team close to sh200m," Mutalaga revealed.

However, Mutalaga also called for discipline from supporters and fans, stating that no plan can succeed when management, supporters, and fans lack required discipline. "Outbursts of indiscipline, for example fighting, foul language, and other forms of violence, must not be associated with Bulemeezi FC," he added.
Team Chairman Ssaalongo Yiga Jonathan revealed that the 29-man squad was selected from a pool of more than 50 players after rigorous training.
He said, "The Bulemeezi people of all walks of life, wherever they may be staying, in or outside of Bulemeezi County are called upon to go wherever their team will be playing from and cheer it to victory."
Team Manager Innocent Mugabo noted that Patron Frank Mutalaga bought every player the management committee requested. "This season’s Bulemeezi FC team is unique because it includes three players who were captains of three different Masaza teams last season," Mugabo emphasized.
Head Coach Leo Ssekamatte has been tasked with leading the three-time former Buganda Masaza champions to another trophy. Key players include Ssembatya Jovan, Pariyo Calvin, Nkuubi Paul, Mugisha Stephen, Luyinda Isaac, Muhanguzi Fred Jr., Ejok Enos Cyril, Kakande Gerald, Lutaaya Benon, Bayiga Bob Benedict, Ssonko Shafiq, and Nnyanzi Shafiq.
In the unveiling match, Bulemeezi FC suffered a 1–0 loss to visiting side Saleh Tiles FC from Bweyogerere. The match showed that Head Coach Leo Ssekamatte and his team still have work to do to sharpen the striking line.
Bulemeezi FC’s season opener in the Masengere group will be an away match against Ssese FC in Kalangala district. The other teams in the six-team group are Kyaggwe, Mawokota, Gomba, and Busiro.
