Kampani Eagles Rugby Club's hopes of returning to the rugby premiership were boosted on Sunday after a 16–10 victory over Rams Rugby Club in the Central region final.
The Eagles secured a spot in the regional finals, the final qualifiers after eliminating contenders Rams at Makerere.
The elimination of Rams sends a strong statement from the Eagles, whose main objective is to return to the Premiership from which they were relegated last year.

"It is not yet over, but this win is a message and a statement that we are on the right course to achieving our target, returning to the premiership," said club coach Fahad Matovu.
"What we need to do is work on our game management and player coordination before the final play-offs," he added.

In a tightly contested final, Willy Araptai scored a try, conversion, and penalty for the Eagles, while Hossana Opilion managed a penalty. Bakali Muhozi also scored a try, and Ryan Juko added a conversion, but time was not enough to overturn the scores.
