After winning the Kalangala Rally Drivers Day Out held over the weekend in Kalangala Island, Peter Kalule has now turned his focus on the Gomba MOSAC rally later this month

The sixth round of the national rally championship (NRC)will be held on October 20-22,2023 in Bukandula Gomba district the same week three Uganda Crews Yasin Nasser, Jas Mangat and Innocent Bwamiki will be in Zambia for the Africa Rally championship.

Kalule popularly called Ken Block of Uganda because of his aggressive, daring character and whipping styles in the corners said that he targets a podium in Gomba.

Kenneth Paul Block (RIP) is a former rally driver who was a USA rally champion and a very popular driver because of his driving skills and aggressiveness.

“It is good winning this event. It was a tight stage but coming first in an event that has experienced and good drivers like Kansime, Oscar Ntambi, Andy Musoke and Fred Wapamba is good enough for me to celebrate,” Kalule said.

To win the Kalangala rally, Kalule beat stiff opposition from Jona Kasiime and Muhammad Bwete who finished second and third respectively.

He posted a total time loss of 20 minutes,47 seconds, ahead of Kansime who came second with 21.10 minutes, and Bwete with 22.03 minutes.

Twelve drivers finished the event that had 16 crews and the prize-giving ceremony was presided over by member of Parliament Kalangala district Helen Nakimuli.

She urged the organisers to continue promoting sports and take more events to the island to support the people there.

“It has been a long time since we had a rally here and I thank you for bringing motor rallying back in Kalangala. I request that you continue doing so every year,” she said.

“Sports is good for the development of communities and we as the leadership in this district shall support you every time you come in the district,” the former Volleyball star added.

The Rally drivers also donated clothes and food to the Kalangala Home of Disabilities which has sixteen children who are in much need of support.

Jonas Kansime one of the organiser of the Rally Drivers Day Out event urged the corporate brands to support them.
