Kaddugala Secondary School has finalised preparations to host the National Netball Rally, with teams expected to arrive on Thursday, March 26, ahead of the three-day competition set to run until March 28 in Masaka.
Head teacher Yahaya Ssengabi confirmed that the school is ready as both hosts and competitors, expressing confidence in their ability to retain the secondary schools’ title.
“The school has not only organized the event successfully, but our team is also well prepared. We believe the secondary schools’ trophy will remain here,” Ssengabi said.
The National Netball Rally will bring together clubs, schools, and institutions from across the country, making it one of the most competitive events on the Netball Uganda calendar. Beyond the quest for trophies, the rally will also serve as a key preparatory platform for teams ahead of the Netball Uganda Super League, which is scheduled to tip off in April.
This year’s rally is the second major competition organized by the federation in 2026, following the National Novices tournament held earlier this month.
Police Netball Team manager Esther Ssendagala says the side will use the tournament to assess its new players ahead of the upcoming league season.
“We have brought in several new players, so participating in this competition will give us an opportunity to evaluate their strengths and test the team’s overall readiness before the league throws off next month,” Ssendagala explained.
Last year, Uganda Christian University (UCU) claimed top honors in the institutional category, while NIC Netball Club emerged champions in the club division, setting the stage for a thrilling contest in Masaka.
