Uganda will field its largest-ever contingent at the FIM Junior Motocross World Championship in Romagne, France, on July 7, with 14 riders selected across three competitive categories.
The team marks a significant expansion from last year's eight-rider squad, reflecting Uganda's growing presence in international motorsport.
"This selection demonstrates our sport's development in Uganda," said Arthur Blick Jr., Deputy Vice President of the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of Uganda (FMU). "We're confident these riders will represent the nation with pride and competitive spirit."
Experience on the Global Stage
This marks Uganda’s third appearance at the championship, following previous outings in Romania (2023) and the Netherlands (2024). Miguel Katande, who secured Uganda’s sole qualification in 2023, returns alongside his brother Jonathan and Gift Ssebuguzi, who is back after recovering from a broken leg sustained in last year’s qualifiers.
With the FIM championship attracting elite young riders worldwide, the Ugandan team aims to leverage its growing experience and make a stronger impact this year. The event will be a crucial test of skill and determination as they compete against the best in junior motocross.
